Self-Awareness

the more aware we are of our inner landscape, the more responsibility we can take for what we bring to the conversation. I have been practicing Iyengar Yoga for the past 30+ years and one of the many valuable lessons I have learned is the value of mindfulness. What a difference it makes to pay attention to what is in my heart, and on my mind, and to take full responsibility for my thoughts and feelings. It is empowering for me, to be the captain of my own vessel, and refreshing for others, to be in the presence of self-responsibility. The feeling for me is a lightness, a relief, an ability to sink into deep trust and relaxation. That’s the sort of environment in which intimacy thrives.
