ME TOO

What is the backlash about?

I’m thinking that the me too campaign is valuable simply because it opens up a conversation about abuse, and brings a sense of the scale of the issue while showing us we are not alone. Blaming the perpetrators is not helpful and I didn’t think that was what it was about at all. For me, change comes about when people are given an opportunity to see things differently. So to me, shining the light on a situation is what this campaign is about. Bringing it to people’s awareness. I just don’t see it as a blame campaign. If I did, I wouldn’t be participating.
